The British International School specializes and is very proud of its Advanced Level program.

Results for the past year have been really encouraging and help motivate us to further enhance the wide spectrum of studying.

The Advanced Level program is a very unique program offered by the Edexcel examinations board from the UK.

Edexcel offers a modular A-Level programme which is spread over six units in total. Recently with the new changes in the curriculum the six units have been declined to four units.

AS - 2 Units

A2 - 2 Units

Admission Criteria:

In order to be admitted to the A-level program, a student must have a minimum of 5 IGCSE/GCE 'O' Level passes with a minimum score of ‘C’ or above.

A student who does not have a minimum of 5 ‘C’ grades in his or her IGCSES will be kept on a probation period which will determine the future of the student at the school.

It is preferred that a student looking to study a specific subject in the A-level has taken that subject in his or her IGCSES.

IGCSE Classes:

The IGCSE stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education and is equivalent to 11 years of studying.

At the British International School we offer the Edexcel IGCSE as we find it much beneficial towards the Advanced level program.

The IGCSE is a balanced international curriculum, which is designed to encourage high academic standard through a practical approach to teaching and learning.

The IGCSE is administered by the University of London and its certificate is internationally recognized as equivalent in standard to the British GCSE and the International GCE Ordinary Level Examinations.

It is also equivalent to major internationally recognized boards and is becoming a great success for students who want to join the Advanced Level Program.

The IGCSE is very unique in its own ways, subjects like Information and Communicaiton Technology allows a student to build coursework’s rather than give hand written examinations.

The coursework allow students to have a more practical oriented approach rather than memorizing long definitions and passages.
