The British International School entered in to A.K.U.'s 6th Annual competition.
The Warriors outshined the competition. With the newly added student Shanil lead by team Captain Haider Raza, backed up by Shavez and Rahib the team did a great job and won two matches against City School and Meritorious school and entered in to the quarter final..
Here are some of the highlights from the match that took place at Agha Khans Sports Centre on 13th October 2009.
Compared to last year, sports was given a great amount of attention.
The Warriors, our school basketball team had a very poor last season run, but this time, with the newly added team members of Asad Ali and Zain Ahmed, our school shined to a historic and best ever season record of 20 wins and 8 losses.
The Warriors were led by these 2 great players who combined to score 46 points per game (Asad 30, Zain 16).
The first match was played against the Lecol’e Breakaways’ where our Warriors beat the Breakaways’ 79-68.

Achieving a spot in the basketball team is highly competitive where the coach, Mr. Aziz holds a camp at the beginning of every year hand-picking the players.
This year involved the same amount of competition and for all those who did not make the team this year, please try again next year.

Football is a very popular school at the BIS and very soon there is going to be a team representing our school.
With a great basketball run this year, we hope that the upcoming seasons for all the other sports are as great as basketball.
Our school also focuses and pays attention to other sports including Cricket, Volleyball and Football.
Although there are no respective teams for the above mentioned sports this year, chances of teams being developed for next year are really high.
Please make sure that all students interested in participating for any sports team fill out the forms in the office and attend the various camps held on their dates.
For now the sports season is over and we are looking for next year prospects.
